Well Yamoto, to get the Yamato BB, you need to the gold medal in the "Invasion of Midway" mission in the Japanese campaign (its the 7th mission). Here is very good resource by Arrow of these forums that will answer most of your questions or any others you may have. Its a strategy wiki and it has many valuable tips plus a walkthrough to help you get that gold and the Yamato unlock.

*Note: After you get the unlock, you can use it in Island Capture mode (online or skirmish), if the map has BB's to spawn (not all of them do, especially the smaller ones). You can also use it in Duel mode (online or skirmish) as long as BB's are the selected units.

Is she hard to get in the campaign? or does the game itself guide me through everything without any hidden objectives? if objectives were hidden would it cause me not to get the gold if i wasn't aware?...

The game won't show what the hidden objectives are or they wouldn't be hidden. However, that guide I gave you a link for will show you them all for each individual mission. Here's what it says for the "Invasion of Midway" mission (all of them need to be done for you to get the gold and the Yamato):

Primary Objectives
* Destroy all enemy airfields.
* Sink the USS Yorktown.
* Sink the USS Enterprise.

Secondary Objectives
* Sink the USS Atlanta.
* Launch 8 squadrons.

Hidden Objectives
* Destroy all fuel tanks.

Another thing if BB ships are turned on in a game will usually everyone have one because it's really stupid if everyone has one it takes away the realism ... also are the servers active for BSP like flowing with people playing or is it dying out? just wanted to know, I'm getting the game tomorrow, just wanted to see what it's like from players views and perspectives before i play.

Yes, if you have acsess to a battleship, so do other players. But that does not mean they will use them. Just talk with your team. Have one player (you) make battleships, another make destroyers for anti sub, have another make planes for air cover, and then get some heavy crusiers. I almost never spawn a battleship, i stick with planes and cruisres.

@ Yamoto- Yes there are still playing, xbox and pc. I dont play pc so I cant say if its busy or not. Xbox live where I play still has people playing, It depends on the time frame when you play.
