York

Built in the late 1920s, these are the only heavy cruisers ever to have been commissioned by the Royal Navy. They carry a wide range of armaments, including six 8" guns and torpedo tubes, meaning they are capable of engaging any surface target. However, as a result of this, they do not excel in any one area, which can result in them being less effective in a particular role than a specialized ship. In particular, the small number of torpedo tubes they have means that they struggle against heavily armored opponents.
